Norwalk Furniture will debut several new product introductions and showcase brand storytelling across its showroom during the Spring High Point Market. A portion of the space is dedicated to supporting the launch of Studio 1902, a new designer-curated brand aimed at broadening the company’s market segmentation strategy.
The Kim Salmela collection, produced by Norwalk since 2018, will return this Market. Salmela, who has merchandised the past two High Point showrooms, continues to influence product development. “Kim has been a huge asset to me and to Norwalk since I joined last year,” said Tim Newlin, President and CEO. “She has delivered to us some excellent product designs for the Kim Salmela collection, but she has also contributed to our fabric selections, the launch of Studio 1902, and the refresh of our showroom. Kim has a great California vibe with the sensibility of her Midwestern roots and an eye for spotting trends that are sellable.”
Norwalk will introduce several updates to its flagship brand, including the Charleston upholstery collection, which incorporates memory foam in a tight back for a traditional silhouette. The Brighton bed, also debuting this Market, includes ambient lighting and USB ports integrated into an upholstered frame with added storage functionality. The company will also present three new fabric capsules—Desert Oasis, Textured Geometrics, and Vintage Botanic—and update its washable slipcover offerings.
“It is a strong product and fabric offering for our flagship Norwalk brand,” said Carrie Norris, VP of Business Development. “When you strengthen your fabric assortment you are setting yourself up for success across all of your existing products and the new launches.”
The company is also dedicating space to its recliner line, which has previously been displayed alongside other product categories. “We took the opportunity to grab a little more space on the floor above us to show the fantastic high leg and recliner lineup already in place at Norwalk,” Newlin said. The presentation will include motion seating options in various fabrics and leathers, with tools designed to support retailer sales ahead of a broader motion category expansion planned for October.
The Studio 1902 brand will launch with an event on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Norwalk showroom at IHFC-M108. The new collection features 35 pieces and over 50 coordinated fabrics and is manufactured in Norwalk, Ohio. It is designed to appeal to younger consumers or existing customers seeking options for secondary spaces such as bedrooms or basements. The line is positioned for ease of shopping, customization, and efficient production and delivery.
Norwalk will also host a program on Sunday, April 27, from 1 to 2 p.m., featuring Cat Rodriguez, executive producer and former VP of programming at Lifetime. Rodriguez will present “Bringing Premium TV to Social Media Marketing,” followed by lunch in the showroom.
Live music by Chamberlin Birch will be offered on Friday and Saturday evenings, along with snacks and cocktails. “We know the time is right to shine a bigger light on what Norwalk has to offer the industry, and we pulled out all the stops for this Market because there are lots of negativities in the news cycle. We want to break that cycle with newness, innovation, and a little bit of fun,” added Newlin.
